Humility is, in fact, a concept of paramount importance in the Bible. That word appears 10 times in the Bible. Among various forms of the word, some stand out: \u201chumble\u201d appears 54 times, \u201chumbled\u201d appears 39 times, and \u201chumiliation\u201d appears seven times. Has humanity not been humbled? Have you not been humbled by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic?<\/p>\n
Many have contracted the disease, died, become isolated, or lost income. It is well-known by now that we are all hurting in various ways due to COVID-19 and the falling economies worldwide. Just one example is the suicide rate, which has gone through the roof. To be sure, we need God. The Six Kowtows are heaven\u2019s answer to the unprecedented challenges of these times. They are Blessed Mother\u2019s gift to us to help us in the most effective way to come back to God (not counting the sacraments, of course, but those will be limited soon, again \u2013 heaven knows this and has given us the solution during these very trying times).<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made [\u2026]\u201d (2 Chronicles 7:13-15). What will you do when things get even worse than now? We know about the happy ending of the Book of Revelation, but how painful it is before then\u2026 So God and Blessed Mother are giving us a great grace for these times.<\/p>\n
The Six Kowtows are a very powerful prayer practice in which we surrender to God. Many miracles and favors of various kinds come through them. When we beg God through The Six Kowtows, things can happen. We must not be superstitious regarding The Six Kowtows, but material, spiritual, and physical blessings have and will be given to many. The most important grace, though, is purely spiritual \u2013 our coming back to God (or ongoing, daily conversion for those who are more advanced).<\/p>\n
The foremost reason people do not kowtow, it seems, is pride. Such people are too proud to prostrate themselves before God. It is just too embarrassing. Pride is actually considered a virtue in our day, and to humble oneself in front of others is simply unacceptable. We must not reject heaven\u2019s gift though. Jesus said, \u201cWould that even today you knew the things that make for peace! [\u2026] you did not know the time of your visitation\u201d (Luke 19:42,44). We do not want that said of us regarding this special gift. We must humble ourselves. Here are a few powerful verses of Scripture on this:<\/p>\n
\u201cHave you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days [\u2026]\u201d (1 Kings 21:29).<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause your heart was penitent, and you humbled yourself before the LORD, when you heard how I spoke against this place, and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and you have rent your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, says the LORD\u201d (2 Kings 22:19).<\/p>\n
\u201cFear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your mind to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words\u201d (Daniel 10:12).<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have not humbled themselves even to this day, nor have they feared, nor walked in my law and my statutes which I set before you and before your fathers\u201d (Jeremiah 44:10).<\/p>\n
\u201cWhoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven\u201d (Matthew 18:4).<\/p>\n
A few words on humility and prayer\u2026 Humility is necessary for prayer. One cannot, in fact, grow in one\u2019s relationship with God \u2013 that is, pray \u2013 without the virtue of humility. Here are two quotes from the Catechism of the Catholic Church<\/em> that make this clear.<\/p>\n 2559<\/strong> \u201cPrayer is the raising of one\u2019s mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God.\u201d But when we pray, do we speak from the height of our pride and will, or \u201cout of the depths\u201d of a humble and contrite heart? He who humbles himself will be exalted; humility <\/em>is the foundation of prayer. Only when we humbly acknowledge that \u201cwe do not know how to pray as we ought,\u201d are we ready to receive freely the gift of prayer. \u201cMan is a beggar before God.\u201d<\/p>\n 2631<\/strong> The first movement of the prayer of petition is asking forgiveness<\/em>, like the tax collector in the parable: \u201cGod, be merciful to me a sinner!\u201d It is a prerequisite for righteous and pure prayer. A trusting humility brings us back into the light of communion between the Father and his Son Jesus Christ and with one another, so that \u201cwe receive from him whatever we ask.\u201d Asking forgiveness is the prerequisite for both the Eucharistic liturgy and personal prayer.<\/p>\n To conclude, we must humble ourselves before God. In these proud times, God wants us to repent and come back to Him. We also have unique needs and intentions during these tumultuous times. God has provided a way for us to humble ourselves before Him and beg for what we need: The Six Kowtows. These will be all the more necessary when access to the sacraments becomes limited soon. Physical prostration appears throughout the Bible. God wants it to be practiced now, especially when His people are compromised through various restrictions and privations. We need God. We cannot do it on our own. We must renounce the lie of self-sufficiency. If we practice The Six Kowtows, He will come to our aid one way or another. No one leaves empty-handed who practices The Six Kowtows. \u201cBut he gives more grace; therefore it says, \u2018God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.\u2019 Submit yourselves therefore to God [\u2026] Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you\u201d (James 4:6-7,10).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n [:ph] <\/p>\n Mayroon tatlong pangunahing bagay na sagot sa katanungan. Hindi niya hinahangad na parusahan tayo kundi gawin tayong perpekto.<\/p>\n Ang pinakamabuting paraan na magpakumbaba ay sa harap ng Diyos ang Anim na Kowtows, tayo ay nagpoprostrate o nagpapatirapa ang atin katawan sa harap ng Diyos at pinaaalam magdasal na nanggaling sa puso \u00a0na magkasabay. Lalo ngayon sa katapusan ng mundo, kailangan natin magmakaawa sa Diyos para sa atin mabilis na intentions. Ang sangkatauhan ba ay hindi pa nagpakumbaba? Hindi ba kayo nagpakumbaba sa\u00a0 epekto ng COVID-19 pandemya?<\/p>\n Maraming tao ang nakakuha ng sakit, namatay , at nakahiwalay, nawalan ng kita. Alam natin lahat na tayo naghihirap sa maraming paraan ng dahil sa COVID-19 at ang bagsak na ekonomiya sa buong mundo. Katulad ng maraming nagpapakamatay na tao. Para sigurado, kailangan natin ang Diyos. Ang Anim na Kowtows ay ang sagot ng langit sa walang kaparis na pagsubok sa panahon ito. Masyadong nakakahiya. Ang Yabang ay itinuturing na virtue sa atin panahon at magpakumbaba mag-isa sa harap ng iba ay hindi matatanggap. Huwag natin tanggihan ang regalo ng langit. Sabi ni Jesus,\u201d maski ngayon alam ninyo ang mga bagay na nagbibigay ng kapayapaan [\u2026] alam ninyo ang oras ng inyong pagbisita\u201d( luke 19:42,44). Ayaw natin sabihin sa atin ukol sa special na regalo. Kailangan natin magpakumbaba atin sarili. Nous devons venir \u00e0 lui humblement dans la pri\u00e8re pour demander ce dont nous avons besoin, pour apporter nos intentions de pri\u00e8re que nous ne pouvons pas prendre soin de nous-m\u00eames. Il est capable de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 nos pri\u00e8res.<\/p>\n La troisi\u00e8me raison est que nous sommes fiers et devons montrer \u00e0 Dieu qu’Il est le num\u00e9ro un. Comme le dit le proverbe, \u00abDieu est Dieu et je ne le suis pas<\/em>\u00bb. L’humilit\u00e9 est une vertu durement acquise qui s’acquiert par la souffrance et l’humiliation. Rares sont ceux qui le choisissent, mais c’est un fondement ou une passerelle pour les autres vertus; c’est essentiel dans la vie spirituelle. Dieu d\u00e9teste l’orgueil et personne ne peut entrer au ciel tant qu’il est fier. La fiert\u00e9 \u00e9tait le p\u00e9ch\u00e9 principal du diable. \u00ab\u00ab Dieu s\u2019oppose aux orgueilleux, mais donne gr\u00e2ce aux humbles. \u00bbHumiliez-vous donc sous la puissante main de Dieu, afin qu\u2019il vous \u00e9l\u00e8ve en temps voulu<\/em>\u00bb (1 Pierre 5: 5-6). Surtout en ces temps de la fin, nous devons implorer Dieu de cette mani\u00e8re pour toutes nos intentions urgentes. Que ferez-vous lorsque les choses seront encore pires que maintenant? Nous connaissons la fin heureuse du Livre de l’Apocalypse, mais combien c’est douloureux avant cela\u2026 Alors Dieu et sa Sainte M\u00e8re nous donnent une grande gr\u00e2ce pour ces temps.<\/p>\n Les Six Prosternations sont une pratique de pri\u00e8re tr\u00e8s puissante dans laquelle nous nous abandonnons \u00e0 Dieu. De nombreux miracles et faveurs de toutes sortes en d\u00e9coulent. Lorsque nous implorons Dieu \u00e0 travers les Six Prosternations des choses peuvent arriver. Nous ne devons pas \u00eatre superstitieux \u00e0 propos des Six Prosternations, mais des b\u00e9n\u00e9dictions mat\u00e9rielles, spirituelles et physiques ont et seront accord\u00e9es \u00e0 beaucoup. La gr\u00e2ce la plus importante, cependant, est purement spirituelle – notre retour \u00e0 Dieu (ou notre conversion quotidienne continue pour ceux qui sont plus avanc\u00e9s).<\/p>\n La raison principale pour laquelle les gens ne se prosternent pas, semble-t-il, est la fiert\u00e9. Nous ne voulons pas que cela soit dit de nous concernant ce cadeau sp\u00e9cial. Nous devons nous humilier.<\/p>\n Voici quelques versets puissants de l’\u00c9criture \u00e0 ce sujet:<\/p>\n \u00abAvez-vous vu comment Achab s’est humili\u00e9 devant moi? Parce qu’il s’est humili\u00e9 devant moi, je n’apporterai pas le mal en ses jours<\/em> [\u2026] \u00bb(1 Rois 21:29).<\/p>\n \u00abParce que ton c\u0153ur \u00e9tait p\u00e9nitent, et que tu t’es humili\u00e9 devant l’\u00c9ternel, quand tu as entendu comment j’ai parl\u00e9 contre ce lieu et contre ses habitants, afin qu’ils deviennent une d\u00e9solation et une mal\u00e9diction, et tu as d\u00e9chir\u00e9 tes v\u00eatements et tu as pleur\u00e9 devant moi, Moi aussi je t’ai entendu, dit l’\u00c9ternel<\/em> \u00bb(2 Rois 22:19).<\/p>\n \u00abDaniel, ne crains rien; car d\u00e8s le premier jour o\u00f9 tu as eu \u00e0 c\u0153ur de comprendre, et de t’humilier devant ton Dieu, tes paroles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 entendues, et c’est \u00e0 cause de tes paroles que je viens<\/em>.\u00bb (Daniel 10:12).<\/p>\n \u00abIls ne se sont point humili\u00e9s jusqu’\u00e0 ce jour, ils n’ont point eu de crainte, ils n’ont point suivi ma loi et mes commandements, que j’ai mis devant vous et devant vos p\u00e8res<\/em>.\u00bb (J\u00e9r\u00e9mie 44:10).<\/p>\n \u00abQuiconque s’humilie comme cet enfant est le plus grand du royaume des cieux<\/em>\u00bb (Matthieu 18: 4).<\/p>\n Quelques mots sur l’humilit\u00e9 et la pri\u00e8re\u2026 L’humilit\u00e9 est n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 la pri\u00e8re. On ne peut, en fait, grandir dans sa relation avec Dieu – c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire pri\u00e9 – sans la vertu d\u2019humilit\u00e9. Voici deux citations du Cat\u00e9chisme de l’\u00c9glise Catholique<\/em> qui le montrent clairement.<\/p>\n 2559<\/strong> \u00abLa pri\u00e8re est l’\u00e9l\u00e9vation de l’esprit et du c\u0153ur vers Dieu ou la demande de bonnes choses \u00e0 Dieu<\/em>.\u00bb Mais quand nous prions, parlons-nous du haut de notre fiert\u00e9 et de notre volont\u00e9, ou \u00abdu fond\u00bb d’un c\u0153ur humble et contrit? Celui qui s’abaisse sera \u00e9lev\u00e9; l’humilit\u00e9 est le fondement de la pri\u00e8re. Ce n’est que lorsque nous reconnaissons humblement que \u00abnous ne savons pas prier comme il se doit<\/em>\u00bb que nous sommes pr\u00eats \u00e0 recevoir gratuitement le don de la pri\u00e8re. \u00abL’homme est un mendiant devant Dieu.<\/em>\u00bb<\/p>\n 2631<\/strong> Le premier mouvement de la pri\u00e8re de p\u00e9tition est de demander pardon, comme le collecteur d’imp\u00f4ts dans la parabole: \u00abDieu, sois mis\u00e9ricordieux envers moi p\u00e9cheur!\u00bb<\/em> C’est une condition pr\u00e9alable \u00e0 une pri\u00e8re juste et pure. Une humilit\u00e9 confiante nous ram\u00e8ne \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re de la communion entre le P\u00e8re et son Fils J\u00e9sus-Christ et les uns avec les autres, afin que \u00abnous recevions de lui tout ce que nous demandons<\/em>\u00bb. Demander le pardon est la condition pr\u00e9alable \u00e0 la fois \u00e0 la liturgie eucharistique et \u00e0 la pri\u00e8re personnelle.<\/p>\n Pour conclure, nous devons nous humilier devant notre Dieu. En ces temps de fiert\u00e9, Dieu veut que nous nous repentions et que nous revenions \u00e0 lui. Nous avons \u00e9galement des besoins et des intentions uniques en ces temps tumultueux. Dieu nous a fourni un moyen de nous humilier devant lui et de demander ce dont nous avons besoin: les Six Prosternations. Celles-ci seront d’autant plus n\u00e9cessaires que l’acc\u00e8s aux sacrements sera bient\u00f4t limit\u00e9. La prostration physique appara\u00eet dans toute la Bible. Dieu veut que cela soit pratiqu\u00e9 maintenant, surtout quand Son peuple est compromis par diverses restrictions et privations. Nous avons besoin de Dieu. Nous ne pouvons pas le faire seuls.
