“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2 Cor. 13:14).
Most Christians do not have a clear and strong sense that they have a Father. When reading “God,” many people think of a powerful, respectable and fearful One. They do not dare to call Him “Father.” Fewer Catholics think that the Almighty really has a very dear and real Father’s heart so that they should live with the Father in that loving relationship.
Most prayers at Mass are offered to God the Father. And although every day we pray to God with the Lord’s Prayer, we often do not have a genuine, loving and passionate relationship with our Father who is in heaven.
In this age when many people’s hearts are so cold, God the Heavenly Father calls us to open our hearts to His unending love, and to know that He Himself will fulfill our deepest dreams and heal us from living in fear and doubt.
“See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:1-2).
St. John’s words make it clear: God, the Father, who loves mankind in a special way, has transformed us into His adopted children through Jesus Christ. He looks at us, not with stern eyes, but with the loving eyes of a Father. The Father has infinite fatherhood, transcending all human emotions.
In the messages from God the Father revealed through Lucia Phan, a Vietnamese-American, He expressed His desire that we know and love Him.
Unfortunately, very few of the God the Father’s children are aware of that immense love. Many people do not know God as their Father. Small numbers have some sense of the Heavenly Father, but He seeks more than awareness on a rational level – His desire is that mankind loves Him with all his heart.
We hope you experience the Father’s Heart that is open wide, so that He is loved dearly.
the Heavenly Father of Humanity
O God the Father who are the heavenly Father of all humanity, I am a weak and wretched person. When I was still living in sinful passions, You chose me, brought me back to rescue and free my soul, for You to cherish in Your immeasurable and boundless love.
You even grant me the greatest privilege to be Your child and to have the whole of humanity as my brother, my sister, and my mother, in the large family of Your children.
You even sent Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to come into the world to bear the weight of our sins and die for us. So what is left that You have retained and not granted to us?
Father, may I live in gratitude to You. Father, please guide me and strengthen me. Father, please open my soul so that I understand the love You give me. Father, please open my heart so that I feel the love You grant me.
If You do not protect, then I easily sin and grieve You. Father, please lead me according to Your way. I entrust my soul and body into Your Hands.
We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Brother, the almighty and ever-living God, in unity with the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.
