Other Recommended Prayers

Besides Holy Mass and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, these are prayers that heaven has recommended through Lucia.: The Rosary of the Six Kowtows, the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy,  the Rosary, the Angelus, the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows, the Chaplet of St. Michael, and the 14 Stations of the Cross.

Also recommended is the reading of the Readings of Daily Mass.

The Rosary of The Six Kowtows

~ to bring the Light to the world ~

(Revealed to an associate of Lucia)

In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God;

all things were made through him,

and without him was not anything made that was made.

In him was life,

and the life was the light of men.

The light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:1-5).

The Rosaryhow-to-pray-the-rosary-jpg
The Rosary is an ancient Christian prayer widely considered to be the most powerful prayer behind the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It is a blend of vocal, Scriptural prayers and meditation centered primarily on the Gospel mysteries of the life of Jesus. While the vocal prayer is always present, the heart of the Rosary is the meditation. The Rosary should be prayed daily, as Our Lady of Fatima requested, and with others whenever possible to encourage one another in this practice.

There are four sets of Mysteries: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and – proposed by Pope John Paul II in 2002 – the Luminous (or Mysteries of Light).

The Five Joyful Mysteries are prayed on Mondays, Saturdays, and the Sundays during the Advent and Christmas seasons:

1. The Annunciation
2. The Visitation
3. The Nativity
4. The Presentation in the Temple
5. The Finding in the Temple

The Five Sorrowful Mysteries are prayed on Tuesdays, Fridays, Ash Wednesday, and Sundays during Lent:

1. The Agony in the Garden
2. The Scourging at the Pillar
3. The Crowning with Thorns
4. The Carrying of the Cross
5. The Crucifixion and Death

The Five Glorious Mysteries are prayed on Wednesdays, Sundays during the Easter Season, and Sundays in Ordinary Time:

1. The Resurrection
2. The Ascension
3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit
4. The Assumption of Mary
5. The Coronation of Mary

The Five Luminous Mysteries
are prayed on Thursdays:

1. The Baptism
2. The Wedding Feast at Cana
3. The Proclamation of the Kingdom and the call to conversion
4. The Transfiguration
5. The Institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper

How to Pray the Rosary

Familiarize yourself and/or your group with the prayers of the Rosary.

http://www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/prayers-and-devotions/rosaries/prayers-of-the-rosary.cfm

1. Make the Sign of the Cross.
2. Holding the Crucifix, say the Apostles’ Creed.
3. On the first bead, say an Our Father.
4. Say three Hail Marys on each of the next three beads.
5. Say the Glory Be.
6. For each of the five decades, announce the Mystery, and then say the Our Father.
7. While fingering each of the ten beads of the decade, next say 10 Hail Marys while meditating on the Mystery. Then say a Glory Be. (After finishing each decade, say the following prayer requested by the Our Lady of Fatima: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those who have most need of Your Mercy.”)
8. After saying the five decades, say the Hail, Holy Queen, followed by these prayers:

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. – That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray: O God, whose only Begotten Son, by his life, Death and Resurrection,
has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech You, that while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

The AngelusThe Annonciation

“Angelus” is Latin for “The Angel,” the first words of this prayer in honor of the Incarnation of Jesus in Mary’s womb when the Archangel Gabriel visited Her at the Annunciation. It is recited at 6 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. The evening Angelus probably owes its origin to the curfew bell, a signal for evening prayer. The Angelus is replaced by the prayer “Regina Caeli Laetare” (“Queen of Heaven, Rejoice”) during the Easter season.

Here is how to pray the Angelus:

The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary.
– And She conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary…
Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
– Be it done to Me according to Your word. Hail Mary…
And the Word was made flesh. (Briefly kneel or bow here.)
– And dwelled among us. Hail Mary…
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
– That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.
Pour forth, we beseech You, O Lord, Your grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ Your Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His passion and cross, be brought to the glory of His Resurrection; through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel

The Chaplet of St. Michael is a most powerful prayer. It is a prayer to him and all the angels. In the Bible there are nine choirs – or groupings according to calling and dignity – of angels mentioned; here they are from highest to lowest: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominations, Powers, Virtues, Principalities, Archangels and Angels (Genesis 3:24, Isaiah 6:2, Romans 8:38, Eph. 1:21 and Colossians 1:16).

In 1751, St. Michael appeared to Antonia d’Astonac, a Carmelite nun in Portugal who is now a “Servant of God.” He said that those who practiced this devotion would have an escort of nine angels from each of the nine choirs when they come up to receive Holy Communion. He also promised, for those who recite this chaplet daily, his continual assistance and that of all the nine choirs during life, and after death deliverance from purgatory for them and their relations.

How to Pray the Chaplet

O God, come to my assistance.
– O Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Pray one Our Father and three Hail Marys after each of the following nine salutations in honor of the nine choirs of angels:
1. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Seraphim, may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect charity. Amen.
2. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Cherubim, may the Lord vouchsafe to grant us grace to leave the ways of wickedness to run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen.
3. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones, may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility. Amen.
4. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Dominions, may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and subdue our unruly passions. Amen.
5. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Powers, may the Lord vouchsafe to protect our souls against the snares and temptations of the devil. Amen.
6. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Virtues may the Lord preserve us from evil and suffer us not to fall into temptation. Amen.
7. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Principalities, may God fill our souls with a true spirit of obedience. Amen.
8. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Archangels, may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all good works, in order that we gain the glory of Paradise. Amen.
9. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Angels, may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in this mortal life and conducted hereafter to eternal glory.
Amen.

Pray one Our Father in honor of each of the following leading angels:
St. Michael,
St. Gabriel,
St. Raphael,
and our Guardian Angel.

Concluding Prayers

O glorious Prince, St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the Divine King, and our admirable conductor, thou who dost shine with excellence and superhuman virtue, vouchsafe to deliver us from all evil, who turn to thee with confidence, and enable us by thy gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.

Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus Christ.
– That we may be made worthy of His promises.

Prayer
Almighty and Everlasting God, who by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, hast appointed the most glorious Archangel, St. Michael, Prince of Thy Church, make us worthy, we beseech Thee, to be delivered from all our enemies – that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into the august presence of Thy Divine Majesty. This we beg through the merits of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Preparatory Prayers

O Jesus, our adorable Saviour, we now contemplate Your sacred passion. Help us to understand that the sufferings of our life are the continuation of Your passion. We ask for strength of our souls to go through our passion, in the spirit with which You went through Yours. Amen.

Station 1 – Jesus is condemned to death

Leader: We adorstation01e You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

Leaving the house of Caiaphas, where he had been blasphemed, and the house of Herod, where he had been been mocked, Jesus is dragged before Pilate, his back torn with scourges, his head crowned with thorns; and he, who on the last day will judge the living and the dead, is himself condemned to a disgraceful death.

Prayer

It was for us that You did suffer, O Blessed Jesus. It was for our sins that You were condemned to die. Oh, grant that we may detest our sins from the bottom of our hearts, and obtain your mercy and pardon by repentance.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.

All: Have mercy on us.

station02Station 2 – Jesus is laden with the Cross

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

A heavy cross is laid upon the bruised shoulders of Jesus. He receives it with meekness and with a sense of commitment, for it is the instrument with which he is to redeem the world and to accomplish the mission for which his heavenly Father has sent him.

Prayer

O Jesus, grant us, by virtue of your cross, to embrace with meekness and cheerful submission the difficulties of our life, and to be ever ready to take up our cross and follow You.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station03Station 3 – Jesus falls for the first time

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

Bowed down under the weight of the cross, Jesus slowly sets forth on the way to Calvary, amidst the mockeries and insults of the crowd. His agony in the garden has exhausted his body. He is lacerated with blows and wounds; his strength fails Him. He falls to the ground under his  cross.

Prayer

O Jesus, who for our sins did bear the heavy burden of the cross and did fall under its weight, may the thoughts of your suffering make us watchful over ourselves and save us from any grievous fall into sin.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station04Station 4 – Jesus meets his Blessed Mother

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

Still burdened with his cross, and wounded yet more by his fall, Jesus proceeds on His way. He is met by his loving mother. What a meeting must have that been! What a sword of anguish must have pierced the mother’s heart! What must have been the compassion of that Son for his holy mother!

Prayer

O Jesus, by the compassion which You did feel for You Mother, have compassion on us, and give us a share in her intercession. O Mary, most afflicted mother, intercede for us that, through the sufferings of your Son, we may be delivered from eternal death.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station05Station 5 – Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus to carry the cross

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

As the strength of Jesus fails, and he is unable to proceed, the executioners seize and compel Simon of Cyrene to carry His cross. The grace of that cross changes the Cyrenean’s heart and from the compulsory task, it becomes a privilege and joy.

Prayer

O Lord Jesus, may it be our privilege to bear our cross. May we glory in nothing else; by the cross, may the world be crucified unto us, and we unto the world. May we never shrink from suffering but rather rejoice if we should be counted worthy to suffer for your name’s sake.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station06Station 6 – Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

As Jesus proceeds along the way covered with the sweat of blood, a woman, moved with compassion, makes her way through the crowd, and wipes his face with a handkerchief. As a reward for her piety, the impression of His sacred countenance is miraculously imprinted upon the handkerchief.

Prayer

O Jesus, may the contemplation of your sufferings move us with deep compassion. Make us hate our sins and kindle in our hearts, more fervent love for You. May your image be graven on our minds until we are transformed into Your likeness.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station07Station 7 – Jesus falls beneath His cross, the second time

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

The pain of his wounds; and the loss of blood increasing at every step of his way, weakens him; and Jesus falls to the ground for the second time.

Prayer

O Jesus, who did fall a second time beneath the load of our sins and of your suffering for our sins, how often have we grieved you by our repeated falls into sin! Oh, may we rather die than ever offend You!

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station08Station 8 – Jesus consoles the women of Jerusalem

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

At the sight of the sufferings of  Jesus, some holy women in the crowd were so touched with sympathy that they openly bewailed and lamented for Him. Jesus, knowing the things that would befall Jerusalem because of its rejection of him, turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, weep for yourselves and for your children”.

Prayer

O Jesus, we mourn and will always mourn for you and for ourselves, for your sufferings and for our sins which caused them. Oh, teach us to mourn, so that we may repent and be saved from the dreadful end to those who reject or neglect you, their God and their all.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station09Station 9 – Jesus falls beneath His cross the third time

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

Jesus has almost arrived at the summit of Calvary, but before he reaches the spot where he is to be crucified, his strength again fails Him, and he falls the third time.

Prayer

O Jesus, we entreat you by the merit of this your third and most painful fall, to pardon our frequent relapses and our long continuance in sin. May the thought of Your sufferings make us hate our sins more and more.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station10Station 10 – Jesus is stripped of His garments

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

Jesus at last arrives at Golgotha and they prepare to crucify Him. They strip Him of His garments and mock Him.

Prayer

O Jesus, strip us of all false esteem, conceit and pride and make us humble like you in this life, so that we share your glory with you in the life to come.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station11Station 11 – Jesus is nailed to the cross

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

The cross is laid upon the ground and Jesus is stretched upon His bed of death. With divine dignity and forgiveness, he lets himself be nailed to the cross. The blows are struck! The blood gushes forth!

Prayer

O Jesus, nailed to the cross, fasten our hearts to the cross, so that we may be united with you until we yield up our souls to you.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station12Station 12 – Jesus dies on the cross

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

For three hours, Jesus has hung upon His pierced hands. His blood has run in streams down his body, and onto the ground. In the midst of excruciating suffering, he has pardoned his murderers, given heaven to the good thief, and committed his blessed mother to his beloved disciple’s care. His mission of love has been accomplished. He bows his head and gives up his Spirit to God.

Prayer

O Jesus, we devoutly embrace your saving cross, on which you died so that we may have eternal life. We hail your cross, and lovingly accept our own.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station13Station 13 – Jesus is taken down from the cross

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

The multitudes have left the hill of Calvary. There is no one except the beloved disciple of Jesus and the holy women with Mary, the mother of Jesus. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus take down the body of Jesus from the cross and place him in the arms of his afflicted mother.

Prayer

O Mary, mother of Jesus, your grief was so great, being a helpless witness to the savage way your Son was put to death. By his death and resurrection, we have become your children in Jesus. Help us by your intercession to be like your son Jesus.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

station14Station 14 – Jesus is laid in the Holy Sepulchre

Leader: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.
All: Because by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

The disciples take the body of her dear beloved Son Jesus from his mother, and place it in the tomb. The tomb is closed and in it the lifeless body remains until the hour of its glorious resurrection.

Prayer

Lord, Your suffering is over. You have triumphed, though in the eyes of men, you may seem to have failed. Sin, death and hell have been conquered. The world is Yours, I am Yours. Be the King of my heart. I surrender myself to your Holy Will. May Your kingdom come.

  • Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Leader: Have mercy on us, O Lord.
All: Have mercy on us.

Concluding Prayer

Heavenly Father, we have contemplated your Son, Jesus, on his Way of the Cross, in his Spirit which you have gifted to us. We accept our way of the cross. We know it will lead us to, where it led him to, our resurrection with him. We thank You for the joy of this vision of faith.

Prayer Revealed by Blessed Mother

March 13, 2013

(Revealed to an associate of L.)

O Heavenly Father, You are Lord of Lords, You are King of Kings, You are the answer and You are our eternal salvation. You are the Light, You are our Savior, You are our Christ. And so for that we praise You, and we thank You for loving Your Church and for continuing to love Your children. Regardless of how unworthy we are, how much we’ve sinned against You, how much we’ve trashed You, how much we’ve been disobedient and disrespectful toward You, You still continue to love Your children. So for that we thank You, we praise You and we honor You. Please continue to be with us; continue to be with Your children and lead us in the Light, lead us in the Light. For this we pray, for this we pray.

1) Prayer for Pope Francis

O God the Father, Heavenly Father, I prostrate before Your holy Face to ask You to care for, protect, and guide our Pope Francis in the face of the multitude of difficulties he is encountering.

O Father, You chose him to be Pope and acknowledge him; defend, support, and comfort him in the face of the many storms coming from the Church and from the world.

Father, please send the Holy Spirit to come and remain with him. Please grant him good health. May his life be totally consecrated to You; may all his thinking, planning, and actions be according to Your holy will and providence.

Please guide him with Your wisdom, preserve him with Your justice, comfort him with Your mercy, and protect him with Your strength and love.

We pray in the Holy Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son and our big Brother, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.

2) Prayer for the Leader of our Country

O God the Father, the almighty and ever living God, we wholeheartedly thank and praise You for having granted us this beautiful country to be our descendants’ heritage.

We prostrate and pray to You for our leader to think and act according to Your plan and direction.

Father, please grant him the wisdom to form policies based on justice, fairness, and righteousness. May he follow the example of Jesus.

May our leader continue to defend the right to life and our rights as human beings, because we are the masterpieces You created. May everyone recognize that none of Your creation is deformed or bad, but it is from egotistical human intervention that Your creation has been affected in a negative way.

May our leader know how to unite everyone and place our national interest above the interests of individuals, groups, and parties. May he contribute to the security, justice, and peace of the entire world.

We pray in the Holy Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and for ever and ever. Amen.
