New Revelations through the Eucharist

An Important Note on the Sixth Kowtow

August 24, 2020

The Sixth Kowtow is the most unique of the Six Kowtows. This is not because it is last; it is because it is directed to Blessed Mother rather than God.

Protestants would be quick to say: “See, they worship Mary! They are getting down in a worship position to Mary!” While any Catholic who knows the truth would laugh at the prospect of worshiping someone who is not God – even one as perfect as Mary – heaven saw this objection years ago and addressed it.

Not long after The Six Kowtows were revealed in 2014, God told Lucia Phan and those who support her to always say a short prayer to God the Father before starting the Sixth Kowtow. Its wording is not fixed, but this is a precise version: “God the Father, thank You for Blessed Mother. Grant me permission to offer this kowtow to Her.”

Why is this so important? There are basically two reasons.

The first is so that Protestants and those of other faiths or no faith can clearly see that we are not adoring or worshiping a creature rather than the Creator. The simple truth is that could be confusing when outsiders see us practicing the Sixth Kowtow; it is similar to when an outsider might see a Catholic kneeling before a statue of Mary. To us there is no confusion, but to outsiders it could be.

It is true that the same position – the kowtow – is being used for God (the first five kowtows) and Mary (the sixth). A different gesture for Mary would confuse people, complicate matters, and greatly weaken God’s effort to introduce kowtows to the world. Five kowtows and a kneel would ruin the whole purpose. Pharisaism can always be a danger among the faithful.

Jesus wanted the kowtow position to be used in this new prayer practice, but He also wanted to include His Mother, the Queen of the Universe and the Mother of every human being. These are Her times – the end times – and the Second Eve, the “woman clothed with the sun” in the Book of Revelation, could not be left out. It is also true that Jesus loves to honor His Mother. It is His Commandment after all!

As mentioned earlier, Catholics and Orthodox Christians are often criticized by Protestants for “worshiping Mary.” The reality is that She would be repulsed by such an action. The truth is that Catholics and Orthodox would be too! Unfortunately, this misconception is promoted and perpetuated (despite good and widely disseminated Catholic apologetics on this) by an influential few in Protestant sects for their own reasons. Some innocently come to this conclusion as well. Even in popular culture, a variant of the kowtow is mockingly employed to physically joke about how one “worships” a boss, an artist, etc.

As Catholics, we have to be sensitive of others’ perceptions, while at the same time continuing to educate others regarding the fact that Catholics do not worship Mary as a goddess, but rather venerate Her as God’s creature. It is true that Catholics and Orthodox give Her highest possible veneration among the saints (“hyperdulia”), but She is certainly not worshiped by them. We understand this from the youngest ages, but outsiders can be confused on this important matter. Is it understandable? Yes it is, for an outsider. For example, we kneel before both God and Mary. It is very clear to all on the inside what the reality is, though. No one is worshiping Mary. The Church teaches that it is a mortal sin to worship anything but God…

The second reason this clarification on the part of God is necessary is so that Catholics and Orthodox understand that the kowtow position is not normally one that is proper to Mary. This is new.

Even though the Chinese origin of the kowtow is submission before another human, in the current context of generalized spiritual confusion on the part of man, it is helpful to clarify this; if anyone were to be confused in the least by the faithful kowtowing to Mary, then let the truth be shared. The Six Kowtows come from God, so there is no need for fear. As Jesus taught us, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:31-32). So this is an opportunity on the part of God to educate His children, most of whom live in confusion about true faith, correct doctrine, etc.

In conclusion, heaven has revealed many times through Lucia Phan that The Six Kowtows are a gift to mankind from Blessed Mother. She obtained them from God for these times. In The Six Kowtows, Blessed Mother is where She wants to be: in the last position, always behind God. Her humility is perfect. Jesus teaches: “When you are invited by any one to a marriage feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest a more eminent man than you be invited by him; and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher’; then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted” (Luke 14:8-11; cf. Matthew 23:12). And 365 times in the Bible God tells us to not be afraid. Why are people afraid of The Six Kowtows? Why are people afraid of prostrating before Blessed Mother in the Sixth Kowtow? As we see above, all such concern is unwarranted. Be at peace. God has thought of everything regarding The Six Kowtows.
